Dr. Patrick J. DeSouza
President and CEO, Member of the Board
Patrick DeSouza is President and Chief Executive Officer of The PlainSight Group and is responsible for its vision and commercialization strategy. Dr. DeSouza brings 20 years public and private company experience in the defense, software/internet and energy industries, having served in a variety of executive and leadership capacities. Over the course of his private sector career, Dr. DeSouza has significant U.S. and cross-boarder capital-raising and mergers & acquisitions experience. At PlainSight, Dr. DeSouza led its acquisitions of American Leak Detection and MadMax Optics, as well as venture spin-offs of Owl Multimedia and Owl Energy. He is also leading PlainSight’s partnerships with Leeb Capital and STARTech Early Ventures. Previously, Dr. DeSouza served at the White House as Director for Inter-American Affairs on the National Security Council. He is a visiting lecturer at the Yale Law School and author of Economic Strategy and National Security (2000). Dr. DeSouza is a graduate of Columbia College, Yale Law School and Stanford Graduate School.
Dr. Ronald Coifman
Non-Executive Chairman; Member of the Board
Ronald Coifman is non-executive Chairman and Board Member of The PlainSight Group and is responsible for the development of PlainSight’s intellectual property portfolio and its application to various commercial opportunities. As one of the world’s leading mathematicians, Dr. Coifman has over 35 years of experience in technology development and commercialization. His research focuses on nonlinear Fourier analysis, wavelet theory, numerical analysis and scattering theory. Dr. Coifman continues to create next-generation mathematical tools for efficient computation and transcriptions of complex digital data, with commercial applications to financial analysis and audio and imaging feature extraction.
Dr. Coifman leads PlainSight’s efforts in the medical and defense industries, having been responsible for PlainSight’s partnerships and business relationships with Everest Biomedical, BrainScope Company, Inc., LockheedMartin, United Technologies and governmental agencies such as the National Geospatial Agency.
Dr. Coifman is the Phillips Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science at Yale University. He is a recipient of the National Medal of Science and a member of DARPA’s Advisory Board. Dr. Coifman received his doctorate from the University of Geneva.
Stan Berenbaum
Chief Operating Officer, Secretary of the Board
Stan Berenbaum is The PlainSight Group’s Chief Operating Officer and Secretary of the Board. He is also President of PlainSight’s Water Management Holding Company that includes American Leak Detection, a nationwide franchise with approximately $50 million in system-wide sales and a minority investment in TRIC Trenchless, a leader in trenchless pipe replacement. Mr. Berenbaum has over 15 years legal and business experience in franchising and in building distribution platforms. He is responsible for PlainSight’s execution and partnership strategies with companies such as Environmental Biotech and UTEK Corp. Previously, Mr. Berenbaum was Vice President and General Counsel of Little Caesar Enterprises, Inc., a billion dollar operator and franchisor of thousands of pizza restaurants throughout the world. Mr. Berenbaum also has significant experience in antitrust and trade regulation matters as a former partner at Honigman Miller. He received his undergraduate and law degrees (cum laude) from Wayne State University. Mr. Berenbaum is an IFA Franchise Executive, an author of numerous articles on mergers, acquisitions, trade regulation and franchising matters, and a member of various bars including the United States Supreme Court.
Dr. Andreas Coppi
Vice President, Products
Dr. Coppi is Vice President, Products and is responsible for managing product and solutions development. He has significant experience integrating complex devices with advanced algorithms for real time integrated sensor processing. Dr. Coppi has led the development of PlainSight products for both Fortune 500 companies such as RadioShack (MP3 Fitness Player) and for PlainSight investments such as American Leak Detection (LeakVue). He also has significant project management experience on PlainSight defense contracts with companies such as LockheedMartin. Dr. Coppi holds a Ph. D. in Mathematics from Yale University, as well as undergraduate degrees in both Mathematics and Physics from MIT.
Dr. Frederick Warner
Vice President, Algorithm Development
Dr. Warner is Vice President, Algorithm Development and is responsible for developing diagnostic software tools for high dimensional data. Dr. Warner has 15 years experience in developing algorithms as well as in signal and image processing. Dr. Warner has been responsible for developing medical devices for BrainScope Company, Inc. and is currently developing financial analysis software tools for hedge fund applications. Dr. Warner holds a Ph. D. in Mathematics from Yale University and, while a research fellow at CUNY, was a National Science Foundation (NSF) University-Industry Postdoctoral Fellow. Dr. Warner is an instructor at Yale University where he teaches about data analysis
